The ES model was part of the “Custom Designed” series which included the regular “Big Six” and the “Standard Six”, with changes from the prior models mainly in the design of the bodies, which were extensively modified.  They were low-hung and round in design at the roof line and body sides, with two-tone paint and double belt lines, and luxurious interiors.  New mechanicals featured four-wheel brakes, disk wheels, and improved headlights.  The ES Big Six President was continued until the release of the President Eight in January of 1928.

 

The radiator mascot is a figure of Atalanta, princes of ancient Greek mythology from the studio of Lorado Taft, Chicago, by C. Mose.

→The ES Model Big Six President was first shown to the public July 23, 1926. It finished production sometime in January 1928.  Studebaker assigned 16,900 SB serial numbers and 445 and CAN serial number to the Model ES.  Engine Serial Numbers ES-43,301 to 62,200.  Most of the data in the chart is from Cannon’s This is a Studebaker Year Vol. 3←.  The price of the Tourer came from SCAC and was listed as a Duplex Phaeton, the Limo price also comes from SACA.
